Catherine holds a BS degree in Agricultural Production, Animal Science from Montana State University, and is also a Registered Nurse. She spent thirty-five years living and ranching where the novels are set. Her love of horses enabled her to raise, break and train her own band of Quarter Horses, which she used daily in ranch work. She also herded sheep on the sugar beet fields near Bridger, MT for a season where she rode daily for miles on end.
Catherine lived and worked in the area where her novels are set, and the descriptions are accurate.
After leaving Montana, she owned and managed a furniture store in Rockford, IL for a year before deciding to write stories about what she knew best: cattle, horses, and ranching. Her works include four novels: the Windchase Family Trilogy series (Flight of the Crow, Raven’s Redemption, and Aspen’s Ascent), and Somebody’s Knockin’, featuring characters introduced in Aspen’s Ascent.
She has also written numerous short accounts of true events from her past, some of which are posted here.
